Oxo Tot- Making toddler snack times easier – Review and Competition

It’s fair to say that the monster household has been a huge fan of Oxo Tot products for quite a while. We’ve previously reviewed the Oxo Tot Whale Pail, 4 Piece Feeding set and Oxo Candela funky Tooli nighlights and each product has impressed us immensely.

Last week monster was sent the OXO Tot Training Cup and Flip-top Snack Cup to try out and when it comes to anything to do with food or drink he is the perfect tester.

The OXO Tot Training Cup

When it comes to cups we must have been through hundreds, from tippy cups to sports topped bottles and sip top cups we’ve had them all but when monster recently  decided to start biting chunks out of the built in straws in his latest cups I knew it was time to start the cup hunt game yet again.

The little man is now at the age where I really want him to start using a lid-free beaker although during his last attempt at using one my poor rug was left drowning in milk and the little man was left really upset at the mess and refused to use the beaker again.

The OXO Tot training cup is designed for ages 12 month plus and is the perfect transitional cup from baby cups to big boy cups. The 200ml cup features a translucent insert that sits between the lid and the cup and sports 10 small holes. The small holes help to control the flow of the fluid therefore minimising the mess cause by accidental spillages.

At first monster was a little unsure about using the training cup but after a little encouragement from mummy and a demonstration from daddy he soon got the hang of it and was using it like a pro. Thanks to the nonslip rubber grips and slight indentation he was able to hold the training cup with ease and the measurements on the side allowed me to see exactly how much the little dude had guzzled. As always monster pushed the boundaries and as we all discovered when turned upside down the juice flows fluidly all be it not as quickly as an open top beaker- thankfully daddy’s feet got it this time and not my pretty rug!

Another fabulous feature of the Training Cup is it’s adaptability. As your monster gets older you can remove the translucent insert and hey presto you now have an ordinary open topped beaker making this funky cup fabulous value for money.

Price at £6.64 the training cup is available from the Oxo Website

Next on our list was the Oxo Tot Flip-Top snack Cup

Designed for monsters aged 12 months plus the Flip-top Snack Cup is a small plastic tub which comes complete with an attached lid that can be lifted to allow your little monster access to their favourite treats whilst you are out and about. After all there is nothing worse than finding half melted fruit flakes embedded into the fabric of your pushchair when you get home because the packet spilt half way down!

The small 150ml cup is both a perfect size for storing in your changing bag and for little hands to grip. Non-slip grips ensure that the little pot can’t slip whilst the flip top lid makes sure that those tasty treats can be stored away until they are called for.

Monster has been using the Flip-top Snack Cup whilst out and about in both his car seat and his pram and I must say that I’m impressed with just how much mess it prevents. Thanks to the snack cup he can now eat his favourite treats without me hovering over him waiting to catch the strays making up both happy campers.

Priced at £5.11 the Flip-Top snack cup makes a perfect addition to any changing bag.

So you have seen what we think to these fab products so who fancies winning a set of their own?

We have 5 sets to give away- Each set contains one Training Cup and one Flip-Top Snack cup
