At just 13 months old my little monster is already a book worm; it’s his favourite activity of the day. Our only problem is that he hasn’t quite got to grips with the word ‘book’ so we often hear him call it a moderately rude word beginning with the letter b. Now try and explain that one when Nana comes for tea!
Our little family also loves a little bit of technology so when we were invited to check out the Itsyourstory website and create an e-book starring our little monster how could we refuse?
We zoomed across to itsyourstory and had a look at the two e-books on offer. We had the choice of the Snowman or Supersox. What with the little man being my superhero how could I resist seeing him in his superhero get up? So Supersox it was.
To create our e-book all we had to do was enter a few details about our monster such as his name, where he lived, his favourite TV programme and the name of his teddy bear. Finally we upload a picture of his cheeky little face and used the easy to use tools on the website to make it fit. As always monster refused to look at the camera but I still think he looks like a very cool superhero.
The whole process of filling in the details, uploading and editing the photo and completing my order took me 3 minutes and 21 second- I know because the other half timed it. How super speedy is that?
I barely had chance to log into my e-mails before the link to our Supersox e-story flew into my inbox. Like an excited child I clicked the link and up popped our 32 paged Supersox e-book featuring the one and only Charlie monster.
I was actually quite shocked just how good the e-book was. If you ignore my shoddy editing of the monsters face you can see just how bight and colourful the images are but what’s more the story is fantastic and makes a great read. From spinning helicopter blades, swooping bats, flaming furnaces and flying superheros this e-book had plenty of action to keep the monster intersted throughout.
I would like to say I had to call the monster over to see himself on the ‘big screen’ but he was already hanging off my leg wanting to know what was going on so I hauled him up onto my knee and let him have a look at the vibrant pictures whilst I read him the story.
Charlies’ eyes lit up when he spotted his face on the superheros body and he shouted the word me, or “meh” as the little dude says, repeatedly. It was lovely to see that the details that we had filled in earlier featured throughout the story as did the monsters picture, making this a truly personalised book.
Price at a very cheap £4.99 these great e-books can be viewed as many times as you like and they can even be forwarded on to friends and family so they can see your little superstar in action.
